OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Regulation of member of central services class .I appointed to hold the post under the government of India in the scale of Rs.2000-125/2-2250.
The undersigned is directed to say that the question of fixation of pay of officers of class I service on appointment to the post of Rs.2000-125/2-2250 has been under consideration for some time past. it has now been decided to regulate the pay of officers of officers of central service class I appointed to hold the post of directors in the sect. in the scale of Rs.2000-125/2-2250 in the manner indicated below:-
(i)An officer of the central service class I appointed to hold the post of director in the sect. in the scale of Rs.2000-125/2-2250 may draw in the scale of the post: or
(ii)He may draw the pay that he would have drawn in the parent deptt.but for his appointment to the post of director in the sect. in the scale of Rs.2000-125/2-2250 and a spl.pay of Rs.300/- p.m. subject to the condition that the pay and spl.pay
(iii)together do not exceed Rs2450/-.
2. The option to draw pay in accordance with (i) and (ii) above shall be exercised by the officer concerned within three months of his appointment to the post of director in the sect. Carrying a scale of pay of RS.2000-125/2-2250 or within three months of the date of issue of these orders, whichever is a later end on every subsequent occasion when there is a change in the scale in which he would have drawn pay but for his appointment to the post.
3. In this case of present incumbents who opt for the scale of pay of post of director viz.Rs.2000-125/2-2250 their pay shall be fixed at the stage corresponding to the pay plus spl.pay being drawn by the officer as dy. Secy. On the date of exercise of his option for coming over to the scale of pay of the post of director and if there is no such stage, at the next lower stage, the difference being allowed as personal pay to be absorbed in the future increment. However, cases decided more favourably with the approval of the ministry of finance will not be reopened.
4. These order will take effect from Ist January 1973.
5. In so far as persons serving in the Indian audit & accounts deptt are concerned, these orders are being issued after consultation with the c & a.g. of India.
