OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject:- Regulation of pay of officers of Central and State Service appointed as Under Secretary/Deputy Secretary to the Government of India.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Ministry’s Office Memorandum No.F.3(26)-E.III/57 dated the 4th September, 1957 on the subject mentioned above as amended from time to time, and to say that the President has been pleased to decide that the provisions contained in that Office Memorandum as modified from time to time, shall be applicable also to officers of the Company Law Board Service when appointed as Under Secretary/Deputy Secretary to the Government of India.
2.The President has also been pleased to decide that the restriction contained in Note (2) below paragraph 1 of the Office Memorandum referred to above shall be applicable to Officers of Company Law Board Service in the manner indicated below:-
i) In respect of officers directly recruited to the C.L.B.S. at the lowest Grade vis. Grade IV the restriction contained in the above note shall be applied in the same manner as in the case of officers of the other Central Services Class I.
ii) In respect of officers of this Service directly recruited to Grade III of this service, the pay plus special pay shall not exceed the pay plus special pay admissible to an I.A.S. officer who has completed five years of service on the date which the C.L.B.S. officer was directly recruited to Grade III.
iii) In respect of officers of this Service directly recruited to Grade III of this Service directly recruited to Grade II the pay plus special pay shall not exceed the pay plus special pay admissible to an I.A.S. officer who has completed eleven years of service on the date of which the C.L.B.S. officer was recruited to Grade II.
iv) In the case of officers of this Service directly recruited to Grade I the pay plus special pay shall not exceed the pay plus special pay admissible to an I.A.S. officer who has completed fourteen years of service on the date on which the C.L.B.S. officer was recruited to Grade I.
3. The regulation of pay in the manner indicated in the preceding paragraph will also apply to those departmental officers appointed to the various grades of this Service at the initial constitution under Rule 5 of the Company Law Board Service Rules. They will be treated as having been directly recruited to the respective grades for the purposes of this order.
4. These orders take effect from the date of issue of this Office Memorandum.
