Sub: Introduction of Grade Rs 8000-13500 (Group ‘A’ Jr. Scale) in the category of Physiotherapists in the Railways.

The issue of introduction of Grade Rs 8000-13500 (Group ‘A’ Jr. Scale) in the category of Physiotherapists in the Railways in pursuance of the recommendations of the V CPC has been under consideration of the Board.
2. The matter has been considered and the Ministry of Railways with the approval of the President, have decided to introduce Group ‘A’ Junior Scale of Rs.8000-13500 in the category of Physiotherapists. While implementing these orders the following detailed instructions should be pa strictly adhered to:
(a) Number of Posts: All Railways put together, out of the 7 posts in the scale of Rs.7500-12000, 3 posts will be operated in the new scale of Rs.8000-13500 by upgrading an equal number of posts in the scale Rs.7500-12000.
(b) Distribution of Posts: These posts will be centrally administered by the Health Directorate of Railway Board and therefore, actual place of operation of these posts will be determined on a floating basis initially for a period of 5 years and the position will be reviewed thereafter.
(c) Date of Effect: The recruitment rules and other conditions including date of effect will be notified separately. However, the existing employees with the prevalent qualification of Diploma in Physiotherapy will also be eligible for promotion in higher grade of Rs.8000-13500 notwithstanding higher recruitment qualification, if any, to be prescribed in the recruitment rules.
(d) Provision of Reservation: The existing instructions with regard to reservation of SC/ST will continue to apply while filling up posts in the new grade.
