Revision of rates of Non-Practising Allowance

ORDER
Dated the Chandigarh, 20th June, 2018
Subject: Revision of rates of Non-Practising Allowance.
Whereas rates of Non-Practising Allowance to doctors working in the Health Department, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Department and Ayush Department (AMO/UMO/HMO) were revised vide Finance Department letter No.1/19/2009-1PR (FD) dated 20.02.2009 on the basis of the recommendations of 6th Central Pay Commission.
Now, the State Government has decided to revise the existing rates of Non-Practising Allowance at the rate of 20% (twenty percent) of Pay in Pay Matrix in the revised pay structure to the doctors working in the Health Department, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Department and Ayush Department (AMO/UMO/HMO), with the following conditions:-
1. The Government Employee posted against a clinical post and actually working against such a post alone is eligible to draw this allowance.
2. The Government Employee posted against a whole time post alone is eligible to draw this allowance.
3. The Government Employee in whose case there is ample scope of undertaking private practice alone is eligible to draw this allowance.
4.This allowance shall be admissible only in such cases and circumstances where it is necessary to prohibit private practice in public interest.
5.The sum of the Pay+ NPA shall not exceed Rs.224550/-(Rs.Two lakh twenty four thousand five hundred and fifty only) per month.
6.The revised rates shall be effective from 01.05.2018.
7.Other terms and conditions shall remain unchanged.
The Non-Practising Allowance shall be treated as part of pay for the purpose of DA, entitlement of loans and advances and TA/DA only.
