The release of the additional installment of DA represents an increase of 1% over the existing rate of 4% of the Basic Pay/Pension, to compensate for price rise. This increase is in accordance with the accepted formula, which is based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both DA and DR would be Rs.3068.26 crore per annum and Rs.2045.50 crore in the financial year 2017-18 (for a period of 8 months from July, 2017 to February, 2018). This will benefit about 49.26 lakh Central Government employees and 61.17 lakh pensioners.

What will do central autonomous bodies like central universities? It seems that central govt wants to enhance tuition fee of poor students. It is clear that their all decisions are moving towards commercialization. But in india it must not be.

1 % DR what the pensioners will do with it? Pre GDT the labor charge was Rs.600. But post GST Rs.700 per day. For the purchase of medicines, doctor’s fees, hospitalization charges with various investigations whether it will be adequate for aged pensioners. Kerala State Govt pensioners are placed better than Central; govt pensions. Let some one compared it. At l;east there is no transfer on all India bases for Kerala Govt employees.
