Rationalisation of Government Bodies under Ministry of Railways – Closure of COFMOW
The Indian Ministry of Railways has announced the closure of the Central Organisation for Modernisation of Workshops (COFMOW) effective December 1, 2022. The closure is part of the government’s plan to rationalize government bodies under the Ministry of Railways. The deadline for the closure of COFMOW has been set for March 31, 2023 and all pending work must be completed by this date. The instructions were issued in a letter from the Railway Board and confirmed by Joint Secretary T. Srinivas.

- 2. It is reiterated that the timeline fixed for closure of COFMOW i.e. 31.03.2023 would not be extended and all the pending work towards closure of COFMOW may be completed before the deadline
