Details and Implications of the Revised Cycle (Maintenance) Allowance Rates
The Indian Ministry of Railways has issued a notice to all Indian Railways and PUs regarding the revision of rates of Cycle (Maintenance) Allowance. The revised rates were implemented in accordance with the Seventh Central Pay Commission’s recommendations, but some Railways/Divisions have not followed the instructions regarding the grant of the allowance.

Consequent to. implementation of Seventh Central Pay Commission’s recommendations, the rates of Cycle (Maintenance) Allowance were revised vide Board’s letter mentioned under reference.
It has been brought to notice of Board that Board’s instructions regarding grant of Cycle (Maintenance) Allowance are not being followed / have not been implemented by some of the Railways/ Divisions.
The instructions regarding Cycle (Maintenance) Allowance as contained in Board’s letter No .F(E)I/2017/AL-7/1 dated 11.08.2017 are therefore being re-circulated for information/compliance.
