Union Public Service Commission (Exemption from Consultation) Second Amendment Regulations, 2023
The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has issued a notification in New Delhi on April 3rd, 2023, to amend the Union Public Service Commission (Exemption from Consultation) Regulations, 1958. The amendment allows for appointments on a deputation basis to the posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Level-10) and Additional Superintendent of Police (Level-11) in the National Investigation Agency for a period of two years, without the need for consultation with the Union Public Service Commission. The regulations come into effect from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 3rd April, 2023
G.S.R 266(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to clause (3) of article 320 of the Constitution, the President hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the Union Public Service Commission(Exemption from Consultation) Regulations, 1958, namely:-
- Short title and commencement:- (1) These regulations may be called the Union Public Service Commission (Exemption from Consultation) Second Amendment Regulations, 2023.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
- In the Union Public Service Commission (Exemption from Consultation) Regulations, 1958, in Schedule II, after item 6B and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be inserted, namely:-
“6C. Appointment on deputation basis to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Level-10) and Additional Superintendent of Police (Level-11) in National Investigation Agency, for a period of two years”.
