Sub: Implementation of decision on 6th CPC recommendations relating to Special Allowance for child care for women with disabilities and Education Allowance for disabled children and clarification on increase in certain allowances by 25% as a result of enhancement of Dearness Allowance w.e.f. 1.1.2011 – reg.
Sir,
I am directed to refer to this Department’s letter of even number dated 2/9/2008 regarding grant of Children Education Allowance and Reimbursement of Tuition Fee to the members of All lndia Services in State Cadre in terms of provisions contained in DoPT’s OM No.12011/03/2008-Estt.(All) Dated 2nd September,2008 and to say that consequent upon enhancement of Dearness Allowance @ 51% w.e.f. 1.1.2011 vide Ministry Finance, Deptt. Of Expenditure OM No.1(2)/2011-E.ll (B). Dated 24/3/2011. the rates of Children Education Allowance and Hostel Subsidy prescribed under the OM dated 2/9/2008 stand raised by 25% w.e.f.1/1/2011.
2. As per the revised rates, the annual ceiling for re-imbursement of Children Education Allowance from Rs.12,000 to Rs.15,000 /- per child and Hostel Subsidy shall be Rs.3750/- per month per child.
3. It has also been decided to extend the benefit of provisions contained in instructions of the Central Government regarding grant of Special Allowance for women employees for child care and Education Allowance for disabled children of the Government employees, issued vide Office Memorandum No.12011/04/2008-Estt.(All) dated 11.9.2008, to the members of All India Services.
4. The rates of Special Allowance for Child Care to women officers with disabilities stands revised to Rs.1250/- per month with effect from 1st January, 2011.
5. The annual ceiling for reimbursement of education allowance for disabled children of Government employees shall be treated as revised to Rs.30,000 /- per annual per child and the rates of Hostel Subsidy for disabled children of Government employees shall be treated as revised from Rs.6000/- per child per month to Rs.7500/- per child per month with effect from 1st January, 2011.
