Government announces a holiday on 14th April, 2023 to commemorate the birthday of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar
The Indian government’s Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions has announced that April 14, 2023, will be declared a public holiday in honor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birthday. This holiday will apply to all central government offices, including industrial establishments throughout India, as per the powers granted under Section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. The announcement has been directed to all government ministries and departments to ensure compliance.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Declaration of Holiday on 14th April, 2023 — Birthday of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
It has been decided to declare the 14th April 2023, (Friday), as a closed holiday on account of the birthday of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, for all Central Government Offices including Industrial Establishments, throughout India, by invoking the powers under Section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act,1881 (26 of 1881).
- All Ministries/Departments of Government of India may bring the above decision to the notice of all concerned.

Why this is announced every year just couple of days ahead? Why can’t it be included in the list of holidays???
