Subject:- Recommendations of the Fifth Central Pay Commission on Leave entitlements of Industrial Employees in Departments other than Railways – Decision of Government thereon–
The Fifth Central Pay Commission made various recommendations (vide para 125.8 of its Report) relating to leave entitlement of industrial employees in Departments other than Railways. As per agreement with the Staff Side of the National Council(JCM) signed on September 11, 1997 , the Government has decided that henceforth the industrial employees in Central Government Departments other than Railways shall be entitled to earned leave (termed as annual leave with wages) at the rate of 30 days for each completed year of service irrespective of the number of years of service rendered by them, subject to the condition that during availment of such leave the intervening holidays shall also count towards such leave.
2. The other terms and conditions applicable to industrial employees (other than Railways) shall remain the same.
3. These Orders will also apply in the case of employees working in the Ministry of Defence (Industrial Workers).
4. These orders shall take effect from the date of issue.
