Use of Unique Disability Identity (UDID) Card as disability verification/ identification document for authentication of ECHS beneficiary with disability and for preparation of White Card under ECHS
The Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has issued a letter (No. 22(09)/2021-D(WE/Res-I)) dated 25th May 2022 to the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Naval Staff, and the Chief of Air Staff. The letter states that the Unique Disability Identity (UDID) card can now be used as a disability verification and identification document for authentication of beneficiaries with disabilities under the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) and for the preparation of the White Card. The acceptance of the UDID card will be effective from the date of the letter.

Sir,
I am directed to convey the sanction of the Government for acceptance of Unique Disability Identity (UDID) card also as disability verification / identification document for authentication of ECHS beneficiary with Disability under PWD Act 2016 and preparation of White Card.
2. The instructions will be implemented from the date of issue of this letter.
3. This issues with the concurrence of MoD (Finance /Pension) vide their Note No. 32(08)/2022/Fin/Pen dated 10.05.2022.
