Subject: Recovery of Current and Arrear Demand for the period April -December 2015-Regarding.

Madam/Sir,

The performance of the field offices for recovery of dues for the period April-December 2015 was reviewed. The following picture in this regard emerges.

1. Recovery of Current Demand (Un-exempted and Exempted)

(a) As per instructions contained in Head Office circular dated 19.06.2012 (available at SI No 187/2012 on the website), the targets set in the category of current demand is 100 percent. This target is yet to be achieved as only 41.31% of the dues have been recovered at the end of December 2015 for the country as a whole. Only three offices namely Ahmedabad (86.74), Madurai (78.01) and Baroda (74.07) have managed to cross the 70%.

The worst three performers in terms of percentage of Recovery are Patna (12.29), Bangalore (15.77) and Raipur (17.40).

2. Recovery of Arrear Demand (Un-exempted and Exempted)

(a) As per instructions contained in Head Office circular dated 19.06.2012 (available at SI No 187/2012 on the website), the targets set in the category of arrear demand is 80 percent. This target is yet to be achieved as only 07.06% of the dues have been recovered at the end of December 2015 for the country as a whole. Only three offices namely Guwahati (31.08), Hyderabad (27.96) and Raipur (27.46) have managed to cross the 25%.

The worst three performers in terms of percentage of Recovery are Mumbai-I (0.48), Ranchi (0.78) and Bhubaneswar (1.76).

3. Recovery of Current Demend (Un-Exempted) NIR

Inthe NIR category, it is seen that bulk of the amount (in Lakhs) is locked with, Kolkatta (5201.30), Jalpaiguri (4093.09), Chennai (2973.48), Nagpur (2266.89) and Indore (2055.52).

4.Recovery of Current Demand (Exempted) NIR

In the NIR category, it is seen that bulk of the amount (in lakhs) is locked with Delhi North (1595.57), Kolkatta (1485.24), and Raipur (900.22).

Low percentage of Recovery reveals that more closely, required legal actions has to be taken and completed in time bound manner, so as to ensure to achieve the targets prescribed therupon.

As the financial year 2015-16 is coming to close soon, the recovery machinery has to be re energised to achieve the targets so that consequent efficient services to the members can be provided.

Similarly, all prescribed legal actions may also be taken in the sphere of Arrear Demand (Un-Exempted & Exempted NIR) and convert the same as Realizable dues and recover the same immediately.

Yours faithfully,

Dr.A.K.Dubey
Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner (Recovery)
