Subject: Maternity leave to women employees working on outsourcing basis.
Sir,
I am directed to refer to the subject cited above and to say that this department is receiving references from various offices of the State Government seeking clarification with regard to the grant of maternity leave to the women employees working on outsourcing basis in the Government Departments. After careful consideration of the matter it has been decided by the Government that a provision may be inserted in the standard outsourcing agreement which may make it obligatory on the services provider to pay the maternity benefits in accordance with provisions of the Section 4-6 of the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961.
2. These instructions may be brought to the notice of all concerned for compliance.
