ORDER:
In the Government Order first read above, the Government ordered that Wednesday the 23rd of December 2015 as a Government Holiday for Milad—un—Nabi under Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. The Chief Kazi to Government of Tamil Nadu in their letter 2nd read above has stated that the crescent of the Rabiul Awal was sighted on Saturday 12th December 2015 and that the Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated on Thursday 24th December 2015 and not on Wednesday, the 23rd December 2015 and requested to declare the public holiday on Thursday the 24th of December 2015.
2. The Government, after careful consideration of the matter have decided to declare 24th December 2015 as a Public Holiday for Milad-un-Nabi instead of 23rd December 2015 under Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. Accordingly, the following Notification will be published in an extra-ordinary Gazette dated 18.12.2015.

NOTIFICATION
Under the Explanation to Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881 (Central Act XXVI of 1881) read with Notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs No.20-25-26, Public -1, dated 8th June 1957 the Government of Tamil Nadu hereby declares that Thursday the 24th December 2015 would be a Public Holiday on account of Milad-un-Nabi instead of 23rd December 2015.
3. The above Public Holiday notified shall also apply to all State Government Undertakings/Corporations/Boards, etc.
