MEDICAL FACILITIES
2342. SHRI RAGHAV LAKHANPAL:
Will the Minister of DEFENCE
be pleased to state:
(a) whether any coordination is being carried out between the medical authorities in the civil and the military in North Eastern States in view of the limited health and medical facilities;
(b) if so, whether such coordination is based on the guidelines given by the Ministry of Defence or it is left to the commanders on the ground;
(c) whether data on the beneficiaries from the civil as well as military is being maintained in case of such coordination; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

IN THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE
(a) & (b): Yes, Madam. Such coordination is being carried out as per guidelines given by Regulations of Medical Services of Armed Forces (RMSAF) titled as ‘Reciprocity between Medical Services of the States / Assam Rifles and Armed Forces’.
(c) & (d): Data on the beneficiaries is compiled by the respective formation headquarters and healthcare echelons. The beneficiaries include serving personnel and their families, veterans and their families, and civilians.
