Subject: Grant of Cash Handling Allowance
No. 25/2/2020-FD(PIC): The undersigned is directed to say that consequent upon the introduction of the Manipur Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2019, the Governor of Manipur is pleased to decide that with effect from 01/04/2020 the Cash Handling Allowance shall be admissible at the following rates:

2. The powers to grant Cash Handling allowance remain delegated to the Head of Departments who, at their discretion, may appoint LDC/Junior Secretariat Assistants/UDC/Senior Secretariat Assistants/ Head Assistants/ Head Clerk/Assistant Section Officers/ officials holding substantive post up to level 11 of Pay Matrix, to perform the duties of Cashiers. The grant of Cash Handling shall be subject to the following conditions:
(i) The amount of Cash Handling to be granted will depend on the average amount of monthly Cash disbursed, excluding payment by cheques/drafts/ECS/online payment/other modes where cash handling in physical form is not involved.
(ii) Not more than one official should be allowed the Cash handling in an Office/Department.
(iii) In cases of Cashier appointed as direct recruitment/promotion to such a post in terms of provision of RRs, no Cash handling will be admissible.
(iv) The Cash handling will not be admissible to Senior Secretariat Assistant/UDC cum Cashiers as Cash Handling is part and parcel of the duties of this post.
