Dear Sir,
Sub: Constitution of ED Level Committee to examine the feasibility for advancement prospects of Points man category-reg.
Ref: (i) NFIR’s PNM Item No. 32/2012.
(ii) NFIR’s letter No.II/44/Pt.II dated 09/10/2018, 05/11/2018, 09/08/2019 & 02/09/2019 to Member Traffic and Member Staff, Railway Board.
(iii) Railway Board’s Order No. ERB-I12019/23/37 dated 19/09/2019.
(iv) NFIR’s letter No.II/1/2019 dated 30/09/2019 addressed to Railway Board (EDE/N).
(v) NFIR’s letter No.II/1/2019-I dated 15/01/2020.
(vi) Railway Board’s Order No. ERB-I/2019/23/37 dated 27/02/2020.
(vii) NFIR’s letter No. II/1/2019-I dated 11/03/2020, 04/05/2020 & 03/11/2020 to Railway Board. (viii) NFIR’s letter No. II/1/2019-1 dated 23/11/2020.
Federation desires to bring to the kind notice of Railway Board (CRB) that due to continued disappointment prevailing in the category of Pointsmen in the Operating Department on account of non-provision of adequate channel of promotion, NFIR vide PNM Agenda Item No. 32/2012 raised the issue at the level of Railway Board demanding 4-Tier cadre structure to this category with Apex at GP 4200/Pay Level-6 of VII CPC. Consequently, the Railway Board constituted a Committee (Board’s order dated 19/09/2019) under the Convenorship of EDE(N). The committee has submitted its report some time back for acceptance and implementation of 4-Tier cadre structure with highest level at GP 4200 (7th CPC pay level 6). Though the Federation has reminded the Railway Board more than once to accept the recommendations of the Committee for implementation, decision has not yet been taken by the Board, consequently Pointsmen of Operating Department are deeply frustrated over inadequate career growth.
NFIR, once again requests the Railway Board (CRB) to kindly intervene and see that 4-Tier structure recommended by the Committee is approved and orders issued early duly endorsing copy to the Federation.
Yours faithfully,
(Dr.M.Raghavaiah)
General Secretary
