Sub: Irregular fixation of pay of Running Staff promoted on and after 01.01.2006 —Railway Board’s intervention — urges.

While enclosing a copy of Federation’s letter No.IV/RSAC/2018 dated 24th October, 2018, it is conveyed that the issue continued to remain pending on Western Railway (Rajkot Division) despite Board’s instructions dated 28th August, 2018 to the General Manager, Western Railway. The Loco Pilots of Western Railway (Rajkot Division) are extremely unhappy over non-grant of pay fixation at the minimum of the VI CPC Pay Band i.e. Rs. 14,790/-. It is surprising to note that Western Railway has not acted properly on Board’s letter dated 28th August, 2018 to remedy the injustice caused to Loco Pilots. It is complained that the Western Railway has been resorting to recoveries on the pretext of incorrect pay fixation in the case of selected Loco Pilots, while in some cases the recovery of alleged over payment on account of incorrect pay fixation has been held in abeyance. This is very unfortunate and leading to suspicion that the authorities are not ensuring equal treatment to Loco Pilots.
NFIR therefore requests to kindly issue suitable clarification to General Manager, Western Railway to rectify the matters and grant correct pay fixation for Loco Pilots (goods) as per RBE No.109/2008.
