Shri Rajnath Singhji,
Hon’ble Defence Minister,
Government of India,
104, South Block,
New Delhi 110001

Sir,

Sub: Workers agitation against corporatization of ordnance factories kind intervention requested.

At the outset, I request that I may be excused for encroaching upon your valuable time through this letter.

In the wake of Government’s decision for corporatization of ordnance factories under Department of Defence Production, the employees of ordnance factories in the country are extremely agitated as they fear that their career and future will be doomed. Almost all employees of ordnance factories are on “Strike”, in order to ventilate their agony with fond hope that the Government would review and withdraw its decision corporatization of ordnance factories.

I trust, you would kindly appreciate that the present situation needs to be handled with maturity combined with positive approach by the Government for finding solution. The Defence Civilian workforce committed to give output qualitatively and quantitatively for meeting the requirement of Nation. Therefore, their appeal for withdrawal of corporatization decision deserves to be considered so as to preserve healthy industrial relations.

May I therefore request you to kindly intervene for resolving the issue under your able leadership which would facilitate the workforce to work with greater accountability and make the ordnance factories highly efficient. You may kindly consider, calling the leaders of Defence Employees Federations and listen their plea for finding an amicable solution in the overall interests of Nation and employees.

With pranams,

Yours sincerely,

(Dr. M. Raghavaiah)
General Secretary
