No.II/57/Part I

Dated: 28/05/2019

The Secretary (E),
Railway Board,
New Delhi

Dear Sir,

Sub: TA/DA, PF, Pass, Medical and accommodation facilities to the contract Para-Medical Staff working in Railways-reg.

Ref: NFIR’ s letter No. II/57/Part I dated 08/05/2018.

Please find enclosed a copy of Federation’s letter dated 08/05/2018 relating to non-grant of TA/DA, PF, Pass, Medical and accommodation facilities to the contract Para-Medical Staff working in Railways. Federation feels sad to state that though a period of one year has passed, instructions have not been issued so far.

Federation desires to reiterate that that the Para-Medical Staff, working on contract basis deserve to be granted following facilities which are presently denied to them:-

• TA/DA to be paid to these staff when they are sent on duty to other places,

• Provident Fund be deducted from their monthly remuneration and credited to respective EPFO,

• They be granted the facilities of Pass/PTO, Medical, accommodation etc., as they have been performing duties similar to the regular Para-Medical Railway Staff. They are required to be provided periodic rest other than Sunday while they have been performing duties of 12 hours in a day.

NFIR, therefore, once again requests the Railway Board to kindly consider the points raised by the Federation in its communication dated 08/05/2018 and accord approval for allowing above mentioned facilities to the Para-Medical Staff working on contract basis as these are also covered under the provisions of Contract Labour (R&A) Act 1970. A copy of instructions issued may be endorsed to the Federation.

DA/One

Yours faithfully

(Dr.M.Raghavaiah)
General Secretary
