Delay in implementation of OROP

(a) whether there has been any progress in the implementation of the OROP scheme after considerable delay of 10 months since its announcement by the Prime Minister;
(b) if so, the details of various stakeholders who have been consulted and the number of such consultations held;
(c) if the proposal is under-consideration by Government, what challenges are being faced for its approval;
(d) the reason and rationale behind fixing no time-line for the implementation of the OROP; and
(e) the details of the utilisation of the already allocated `1,000 crore to OROP Scheme by Government?

(a) to (e): The policy of ‘One Rank One Pension (OROP)’ for the Armed Forces has been adopted by the Government to address the pension disparities. The modalities for implementation were discussed with various stakeholders and are presently under consideration of the Government. It will be implemented once the modalities are approved by the Government.
