Implementation of OROP

Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state :-
(a) the details of decisions taken by Government for the grant of One Rank One Pension (OROP) for the Armed Forces and since when it has been implemented;
(b) whether it is a fact that military retirees have again decided to continue their peaceful protest from Jantar Mantar, urging Government to provide for approved and promised OROP in its entirety; and
(c) if so, the details thereof and Government’s reaction thereto?

(a) The Government has implemented One Rank One Pension (OROP) for Defence Forces Personnel with effect from 01.07.2014. As on 30.09.2017, a sum of Rs.10,739.09 crores has been released to 20,43,354 Defence Forces Pensioners / Family Pensioners in four instalments towards the arrears.
(b) & (c): No protest / demonstration is allowed at Jantar Mantar after the order issued by the Hon’ble National Green Tribunal on 05.10.2017.
