BENEFITS OF OROP TO WAR WIDOWS
2577. DR. MANOJ RAJORIA:
Will the Minister of DEFENCE
be pleased to state:
(a) whether One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme is applicable to war widows;
(b) if so, the number of war widows benefited as a result thereof; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government to ensure that all the war widows get the benefits of OROP?

IN THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE
(a) Cases of death arising as a result of enemy action in International War or War like situation falls under Category ‘E’ of Ministry of Defence letter dated 31.01.2001 and eligible member of the family of such cases are entitled for Liberalized Family Pension (LFP). LFP cases are covered for revision of Pension under One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme.
(b) & (c): OROP scheme has been implemented for all pre-01.07.2014 eligible Defence Pensioners / Family Pensioners including War widows. Data regarding number of war widows benefitted under OROP scheme is not maintained separately.
