Subject: Fixation of enhanced family pension Pre-2006 Family Pensioners.
Reference: This Office Circular No.57 & 62 dated 17-09-2008 & 12-11-2008.

Reference invited to the Min of PPG & P, Deptt of P&PW OM No.38/37/08/P&PW (A) dated 1.9.2008 & 14.10.2008 circulated under this office circular No.57 & 62, referred to above, for implementation of the provisions contained in the above said Govt. OM. Now, the Deptt of P&PW vide OM F.No.-1/3/2011-P&PW(E) dated 25 may 2012 have clarified that the revised enhanced family pension shall not be less than 50% of the minimum of the pay scales in case of HAG and above, corresponding to the pre-revised pay scale in which the pensioner/deceased employee had last worked. A copy of Govt. OM Dated 25 May 2012, ibid is enclosed for immediate implementation. Further, a concordance table (Annexure-A) of the Pre-1996, Pre-2006 and Post 2006 pay scales/Pay bands is enclosed herewith to facilitate payment of revised enhanced family pension in terms of P&PW OM dated 25 May 2012, in all cases where fixation the family pension as per table, Note -I & Note-II mentioned therein may be kept in view. In cases where, the PDAs are in doubt about the fixation of enhanced rate of Family Pension, the cases with full details of pensioner/family Pensioner and PPO No. May be referred to audit section of this office for advice and further action.
