Subject: Removal of State wise jurisdiction of disbursement of Civil pension in respect of HDFC Bank.
Consequent upon the establishment of CPPC with the approval of CPAO State-wise jurisdiction in respect of HDFC Bank was removed by correction slip No.21 to the scheme for payment of pensions to Central Government Civil Pensioners by Authorised Banks (Fourth Edition, 3rd December, 2004) issued vide communication No.CPAO/Tech/Amdt. Sch. Book/2013-14/106 dated 31.07.2013 which was withdrawn by CPAO’s OM No.CPAO/Tech/Amdt. Sch.Book/2013-14/291 dated 27.03.2014 read with CGA Office letter No.s-11012/2/3(19)/Banks/RBD/2004/2017 dated 21.08.2013.
HDFC Banks represented against this withdrawal with the request to review the position vide their letter dated 10th of July 2014 followed by letter dated – 15.07.2015.
The entire case has been reviewed in the light of CGA office Om No.11012/3(1)/Ref.Case/2010/RBD/1119-1179 dated 30.06.2015 and it has been decided to remove the State- wise jurisdiction for disbursement of pensions to the civil pensioners through all CBS enabled branched of the HDFC Bank. Accordingly, the OM No.CPAO/Tech/Amdt. Sch.Book/2013-14/291 dated 27.03.2014 may be treated as withdrawn and status-quo Correction Slip-No.21 to the Scheme Booklet be maintained with immediate effect.
This issues with the approval of the Controller General of Accounts.
