Sub:- Contract Medical Practitioners (CMPs) – HRA.
The issue regarding deduction/recovery of HRA amount from monthly remuneration of Contract Medical Practitioners (CMPs) who are provided with Railway accommodation has been re-examined in consultation with Finance Directorate of Board’s office and with the approval of Member (Finance) and Chairman & CEO, Railway Board it has been decided that if Railway accommodation is provided to CMPs, an amount equivalent to HRA and license fee of the accommodation shall be deducted from the monthly remuneration payable to CMPs.

2. For working out the HRA element, the ‘Pay’ as admissible at the minimum of Junior Scale, Senior Scale and JA Grade may be considered as applicable to the GDMOs, Specialists, and Super-specialists respectively and rate of HRA shall be the middle slab (i.e. 18% at present) irrespective of the classification of city where the CMP is posted. For clarity on the subject, the deduction of HRA is indicated below:-

GDMO (equivalent to Jr. Scale) 75,000 / – 56,100/- 10,098 /-
Specialist (equivalent to Sr. Scale) 95,000/- 67 ,700/- 12,186/-
Specialist (2nd year onwards 1,05,000/-
Super Specialist equivalent to JA Grade 1,15,000/- 78,800 /- 14,184/-

*In addition to this, license fees of the accommodation, as per applicable rates, shall also be deducted.
