Integration of Cadres in the Civil Engineering Department
The Government of India’s Ministry of Railways, through the Railway Board, has issued a communication (No. 2023/CE-I/GNS/6) dated 07.08.2023 to the Principal Chief Engineer of all Indian Railways. The communication pertains to the merger of cadres within the civil engineering department. It references a note (no. E(MPP)2023/1/17) from PED(HR) regarding the integration of these cadres.

Subject: Merger of Cadres.
To optimally utilize manpower and in view of changes in technology, working systems and redundancies review of manpower requirement is done from time to time.
In view of above, Board (CRB) has advised an action plan for integrating aligned cadres in departments. In this connection, all directorates are requested to submit their proposals and suggestions for integrating cadres in their departments for consideration, to ensure effective utilisation of skills and balance workload of different cadres so that they can be optimally utilized and may yield better promotional avenues also. The list of various designations appearing in the respective department is also attached as per DATA available in HRMS for your ready reference.
