Sir,
Payment of allowance to the Running Staff in lieu of Running Room facilities-upward revision-requested. (PNM/NFIR item No.39/2016).
The undersigned is directed to refer to NFIR’s letter No.IV/RSAC/2018, dt. 25.07.2019 wherein it has been requested to review the matter and revise the rates to a minimum of Rs.200/- to the lower pay level running staff and Rs.350/- to Loco Pilots and Guards. It has been further been stated that Running Staff face difficulties due to the reason that the amount fixed is quite insufficient in view of high inflation in the market.
The matter has been examined and it has been observed that the rates of Running Allowance including the rate of Allowance in lieu of Running facilities has been revised vide Board’s letter No.E(P&A)II/2013/RS-14 dated 28.05.2019 (RBE No.85/2019) after consultation with both the recognized Federations viz. AIRF and NFIR and concurrence of the Ministry of Finance. Further revision, if at all justified, would not be possible without the concurrence of the Ministry of Finance.
