Sub: Engagement of Honorary Visiting Specialists (HVS) in Railway Hospitals Visiting Hours.

Ref: (1) Railway Board letter no.2014/h-1/12/8/HVS/Policy dated 19.06.2018.
(2) CMD/WCR’s letter no. WCR/HQ/H/G/0101 dated 08.06.2018.

With reference to CMD/WCR’s letter under reference (2), Board (MS, FC & CRB) have approved the following:

1. Honorary Visiting Specialist (HVS) may be engaged for 4 hours or 2 hours for 6days/4days/2days per week, depending upon the workload of the hospital in the desired specialty which will be decided by the concerned MD/CMS/CMO of the hospital.

2. Following options of the visiting hours are added in Para 6 of the Railway Board’s letter under reference (1) above:

2.1 Average of 4 hours every day/6 days/week.
2.2 Average of 4 hours every day/4 days/week.
2.3 Average of 4 hours every day/2 days/week.

3. Honorarium to be paid: Following are added in the Honorarium table at Para 8 of the Railway Board’s letter under reference (1) above:

4 hours a day for 4 days/week

4. Daily Rate of deduction of remuneration: Following are added in the Daily Rate of deduction of remuneration table at Para 11 of the Railway Board’s letter under reference (1) above:

Rs.4000/ P.D

4 hours a day for 4 days/week

5. All other terms & conditions of the scheme for engagement of HVS shall remain unchanged and as modified from time to time.

This issues with the concurrence of Associate Finance of Transformation Cell of Railway Board.
