7th CPC Recommendations 25% Increase Language Award Allowance
With a justification similar to that for the Language Allowance, Language Award is a one-time award for passing certain language related examinations. The existing rates are as follows:

Besides a four-fold increase, the removal of minimum percentage clause has been requested.
Analysis and Recommendations
Since the allowance is already partially indexed to DA, it is recommended to raise it by a factor of 1.5. The amount will further rise by 25 percent each time DA rises by 50 percent. Other demands do not hold merit
