The Secretary (E),
Railway Board,
New Delhi
Dear Sir,
Sub: Change of designation of ECG & Hotter Technicians working in Railway Hospitals-allotment of Qualification based pay structure-reg.
Ref: (i) NFIR’s PNM item No. 60/2012
(ii) Railway Board’s letter No. 2012/H-1/10/6 dated 22/08/2013.
(iii) NFIR’s letter no. II/49/Pt. II dated 7/10/2013 & 18/03/2014.
During the discussions held between the NFIR and Railway Board on 16/07/2014, while discussing PNM Item No.60/2012, the Railway Board conveyed that since the issue relating to pay scale generally falls in the jurisdiction of Central Pay Commissions, the expert bodies, and the Seventh CPC has already been constituted, the item will be referred to the Vllth CPC.
In the course of discussions, Federation contended that though the issue of Qualification based pay structure is within the domain of 7th CPC for which Railway Board would make reference, however the issue of change of designation of ECG & Holter Technicians is within the competence of the Railway Board. In this connection, Railway Board may like to connect their letter dated 22/08/2013 and responses there to received from the Zones/PUs etc., for taking action for change of designation. Needless to mention that the proposal has ‘Nil’ financial implications.
NFIR, therefore, once again requests the Railway Board to consider revision of designation of ECG & Holter Technicians as “Cardiac Technologist” early.
Yours faithfully,
(Dr. M. Raghavaia)
(General Secretary)
