Subject: Selection for the post of Special Secretary-cum-Director General in Central Economic Intelligence Bureau (CEIB)-reg
The undersigned is directed to state that the post of Special Secretary-cum-Director General in Central Economic Intelligence Bureau (CEIB) under the Department of Revenue in the Apex Scale of Rs. 80,000/- (fixed) is likely to fall vacant on 01.05.2015. In terms of the Central Economic Intelligence Bureau (Special Secretary-cum-Director General) Recruitment Rules, 2012, this post is to be filled up on deputation basis. The said Rules are available on the website of the Department @ http://dor.gov.in/acts rules. The following categories of officers are eligible for appointment to this post:
“Officers of the Central Government”
(A)(i) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or
(ii) With two years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the post in the HAG scale of pay of Rs.67,000-79,000/-;
and
(B)Possessing the following essential qualifications:-
having at least twenty years of experience in administering and running the direct tax or indirect tax administration in the Central Government with at least ten years experience in the field formations of Central Board of Direct Taxes or Central Board of Excise and Customs.
Note 1. – No person with less than two years’ residual service on the date of occurrence of the vacancy for which selection is made shall be eligible for consideration for selection.
Note 2. – The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment under same or some other organization or Department of the Central Government shall not exceed five years.
Note 3. – For the purpose of appointment on deputation basis, the service rendered on a regular basis by an officer prior to 1st January, 2006 (the date from which the revised pay structure based on the Sixth Central Pay Commission recommendation has been extended) shall be deemed to be service rendered in the corresponding grade pay or pay scale extended based on the recommendations of the pay commission except where there has been merger of more than one pre-revised scale of pay into one grade with a common grade pay or pay scale, and where this benefit will extend only for the post for which that grade pay or pay scale is the normal replacement grade without any upgradation. “
- It is requested that application of the officers fulfilling the eligibility criteria as specified above may be forwarded through the respective Cadre Controlling Authority to the Revenue (Headquarters) latest by 27.02.2015 in the enclosed proforma, alongwith their vigilance clearance in the prescribed format (Part-C) and history of posting. Advance copies of applications as well as the application of officers who submit their applications to the Cadre Controlling Authority after the closing date, will not be entertained.
