Subject: Enhancement of monetary allowance attached to the Pre-Independence Gallantry Awards.
Sir,
I am directed to refer to this Ministry’s letter No 7(42)/2006/D(AG) dated 14th May 2008, on the above subject and to convey the sanction of the President to the enhanced payment of monetary allowance at the following rates to all recipients, irrespective of rank and income, of the following pre-independence gallantry awards, with effect from the date of issue of this letter:-

2. Each Bar to the decoration will carry the same amount of monetary allowance as admissible to the original award.
3. Other terms and conditions of payment of monetary allowance will continue to be governed by the order contained in this Ministry letter No.7(67/92/D(AG) dated 19.04.1999 and No.7(42)/2006/D(AG) dated 14th May, 2008.
4. The expenditure on this account will be debitable to the relevant Heads of the Defence Services Estimates.
5. This issues with the concurrence of Ministry Of Finance (Deptt. of Expenditure) vide their ID No.7/67/E.IIIA/98 dated 17.03.2011.
