Sub: Re-classification of Mathura-Vrindavan Municipal Corporation as ‘Y’ class city for the purpose of grant of House Rent Allowance (HRA)-regarding.
Ref: Government of India, Ministry of Finance, DoE’s O.M. No. 2/4/2018-E.II(B) dated 25th February, 2020.
Kind attention of Railway Board is invited to Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure) O.M. No. 2/4/20 I 8-E.II(B) dated 25th February, 2020 wherein revised classification in respect of Mathura-Vrindavan Municipal Corporation to ‘Y’ class city/town for the purpose of grant of House Rent Allowance to the Central Government Employees w.e.f. 01/03/2020 has been issued. Federation pleads that these instructions are applicable for Railway employees posted there for the purpose of payment of grant of House Rent Allowance. A copy of the O.M. dated 25th February, 2020 is enclosed.
NFIR, requests the Railway Board to issue corresponding instructions for payment of HRA to the Railway employees posted in the jurisdiction of Mathura-Vrindavan Municipal Corporation which is ‘Y’ Class City. A copy of the instructions issued may be endorsed to the Federation early.
