OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Maternity Leave benefits to different categories of Women employees under the Maternity Benefits Act, 1961.
The matte to enhance the maternity leave to the different categories of women employees working in the Government Departments or any Autonomous body/ Public Sector undertaking/ Society or other entity under the control of the Government. Now, it has been decided that all women employees who are working on part time or whole time or daily wages or contingent paid employees on contract basis etc,. who are not covered under the CCS(Leave) Rules, 1972, are entitled for maternity leave as provided under the Maternity Benefits Act, 1961 as per terms and conditions laid down in the Act and instructions there under. The Departments Organizations/ Societies may take an appropriate decision in this regard with the approval of the competent authority.
2. This is in supersession of this department Office Memorandum of even number dated 31st July, 2009.
